Child therapy in Boston
Child therapy aims to address, support and overcome issues affecting a child's well-being, behavior, and development.
Therapy with children also includes parent/cargiver coaching. helping parents/caregivers understand their kids more and learning what tools they need to best support their kids.
I work with a range of ages tailoring my approach to the developmental stage, areas of interest and focus for therapy.
Early child therapy 3-6
This consists of mainly play therapy where playing is utilized to help a child understand and express their feelings and their life. I use art therapy which also allows for expressing and understanding feelings. These modalities support me developing a greater sense of your childs needs and figure out what support is needed from the parents and sometimes the school system. This age range is partially pre-verbal which means concrete memories are not fully being made. Children start developing emotional memories from the time they start developing in the womb. No age is too soon for therapy if needed.
Adolscent therapy and teen therapy
This consists of a mix of art therapy, talk therapy, mindfulness, meditation and DBT techniques(dialectical behavioral therapy.) We engage in playing games and sometimes creating art to allow for an ease of comfortability and openness when talking about feelings and unpleasent experiences.
